Hard at work: building free STEM curriculum for students

Behind the donations and the fundraising, most of our time right now goes into one thing: building courses that students and schools can use at no cost.

What we are building

Our courses cover aviation, drones, engineering, and maritime and environmental science. They were developed with American High School Academy (AHSA) as our education partner, and they are open to young people beyond AHSA. They are free to partner schools, along with teacher resources and a teacher-led version for the classroom. Schools register before the school year in which they plan to use them.

Skill Badges

Students can earn AMCAI Skill Badges by meeting the requirements for a specific badge and passing a proctored assessment. A badge records a skill the student demonstrated. AMCAI issues and verifies the badges itself.

What the courses are, and are not

The courses are for students’ own growth: skills, projects and a look at real careers. AMCAI does not issue academic credit, and a badge is not credit. Any credit is decided by the school teaching the course, and we do not promise that a school will accept it or that any course leads to an internship or job. Several of our courses are still in development, and we will announce each one as it is ready.

Who we want to hear from

We are looking for other nonprofits and professionals who can add expertise to our courses, guest speakers, and hands-on weekend events for students who join the AMCAI Cadet Corps. If that is you, or you know a school that would like to use the curriculum, we would like to talk.

Keeping this curriculum free takes sponsors and donors. If you would like to help, our fundraiser is open.
